I have worn through multiple vinyl floor mats over the years. I am extremely impressed and excited that this glass floor mat may finally be able to withstand the rigors of my rolling drafting table chair. I am in constant motion as I am drawing at the board. So far, I appreciate the sturdy feeling below my feet and the ease of rolling my chair. Time will tell. Check back with me in January 2027 to find out if I was able to break this mat! Having found that plastic floor mats only seem to last a couple of years, when placed on a carpeted floor, I decided that I needed to upgrade to a glass chair floor mat.
However before taking the plunge I decided to do some research, rather than just choose the top search results from the nation’s largest online retailer.
After reading reviews it became clear that the sustainability of some of the lower priced glass floor mats was potentially risky as there were reports of the glass mats shattering fairly easily.
After doing further research including some AI assisted searches it became obvious to me that the Clearly Innovative has the best products in this category, particularly because of the beveled edges.
So I purchased the 45” x 53”, which arrived approximately a week later.
It should be noted that this model weighs 63 pounds and took some effort to move the glass mat up a flight of stairs.
Having had the mat installed for a couple of weeks, I love it, my Aeron chair moves easily on the glass chair mat and I am very pleased with the purchase.

Splurged on glass mat to protect the antique rug in my office. The beveled edges were a selling point for me and are every bit as beautiful and functional as I had hoped. It’s even nice to stand on when I raise my desk from the sitting position - which was a bit of a surprise. So happy with my purchase. Thank you!

Love, love, love this mat! It's sleek and smooth and the desk chair glides beautifully on the surface. Beveled edge makes for an easy drop if you scoot the chair too far. We've had plastic mats in the past, most recently one that was quite expensive and custom fit, yet it still curled up on one corner and never flattened again. This glass mat is the hands down winner - we will never purchase, nor recommend, any other mat!

This is a fantastic product. It’s so beautiful and looks just like the picture. The beveled design makes it easy to roll on and off the mat. I just ordered a second one. It is heavy, though, and required two people to install the pads and get it into place.
I used to have one of those cheap plastic matts. It seemed to work just fine. It finally broke into many pieces and I decided to bite the bullet and get the Clearly glass!

The casters are a little larger so my chair rolls much better on carpet as well as hard floor. Looks great.

My 52x48 matt with the tab is the perfect size for my dual-desk arrangement. I did not need to use the Velcro pieces beneath the glass - the matt stays in place on my carpet without moving.
The product arrived quickly and in perfect shape. Highly recommended.
These popped easily into my Aeron, replacing the hard and somewhat ragged casters it came with. I wanted something that would be kind to my glass mats, and these do the trick! They have a nice look too. Got the all-black ones because they go better with the dark color of the Aeron.
I was hoping and this glass chair mat is Super, much better than I thought it would be. And wife loves the way it looks.
Suggest selecting the largest size you can make work, Glad I selected the largest, any less and I'd be wishing I had ordered the larger.
I recently switched to a new CI glass mat after decades of using plastic mats - what a improvement? The difference in the way my chair rolls on the glass mat isn't even comparable to the way it barely rolls on a plastic mat. This is a super product that I would highly recommend to anyone who uses chair mats.
Application is on carpet for a home office. Works better than expected. Smooth rolling with chair and the beveled edges help eliminate any bumping into the mat with your foot. The 46x46 is large enough for our needs. And packaging was heavy duty, little chance for a damaged product.
I’m very happy with my purchase, this is my second one. My husband like the first and decided to keep for himself. My chair rolls smooth and easily, my mat is half on rug and half on hardwood. It protects the wood floors, while also give the office a good look.
